Middle-aged (59), married (for the second time), retired pastor (still on the staff of a church - part time - as minister of congregational care), artist, father of 3 grown children, step-father of five others (with 5 step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren; a new grandson of my own, and another grandbaby on the way!).
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:

An opportunity to display my art, to try out my writing ideas, and to meet and get to know interesting people with interests similar to my own. I have already learned so much in the year I have been here.

Favorite Music, Artists, Genres:

I like an eclectic mix of everything from soft jazz to contemporar Christian; from lite rock to worship and praise; from contemprary country to classical. I cannot abide any music that screams, yells, or in which the guitars, drums or other instruments are shrill and loud.
Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:

I like mysteries best of all, followed by true-to-life family fiction, humorous fiction, and well-done fantasy with a heart. (Of course, the Bible.) Too many to name, my favorites are by the authors listed below., John Grisham, David Baldacci, Scott Turow, Anne Tyler, Anna Quindlan, Jan Karon, J.R.Rowling, C.S.Lewis, and Phillip Pulman (to name a few).

To Kill a Mockingbird, The Sting, Hook, The Wizard of Oz, Hook, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Jumping Jack Flash, The Apostle, The Pelican Brief, Presumed Innocant, Absolute Power, What About Bob?, etc.

I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, Green Acres, MASH, Matlock, Diagnosis Murder, Murder She Wrote, Criminal Minds, Without A Trace, Law & Order C.I., Monk, Psych, The Closer, etc.
